Companies in the construction sector often employ workers from vulnerable backgrounds, like migrant workers. They frequently work in complex construction projects where their rights are not sufficiently respected and enforced. The consequences are, for example, poor working conditions and a high number of work-related injuries
To address this problem, Ylva’s project The Inclusive Site wants to create an inclusive culture on construction sites and actively dismantle potential barriers to fair treatment of workers. This includes different aspects like the creation of safe work spaces, the active promotion of principles of inclusivity and the set-up of problem-solving mechanisms. The goal is to build replicable practices which allow to create a movement within the construction industry.
During their participation in the B4IG acceleration program, the project team wants to enrich, structure, and formalize the value proposition to engage partners for new pilots.
